2022 marks the 40th anniversary of the Falklands War.

In April 1982, decades of diplomatic wrangling over the region’s sovereignty culminated in a conflict between Great Britain and Argentina. The war spanned 74 days and resulted in 255 British troops and three Falkland Islanders losing their lives.

To ensure these heroes are never forgotten, a team of four veterans – Paul Moore, Charlie McColgan (both Falklands Veterans), Phill Damant and Tony McKie are undertaking a fantastic show of remembrance with a 2600-mile motorbike ride to visit the memorials and gravesites of those who gave the ultimate sacrifice in the Falklands War.

What is referred to as the ‘Ride of Respect’ will take place this coming May with the aim of promoting remembrance, respect, awareness, and support. All funds will be going towards the South Atlantic Medal Association who provide crucial support to veterans of the Falklands War.

DropZone was founded by veterans with the aim of supporting the veteran community, while creating a wide range of brews that can be enjoyed for years to come. Therefore, we are delighted to announce that we will be raising money for this incredibly worthy cause and what better time to launch this than on #RandomActsofKindnessDay.

We are extremely passionate about supporting this cause through our limited-edition cans filled with the much-loved Red On lager. There is only a small amount available and 100% of profits will be going to SAMA to support the amazing work they do for veterans of the Falklands.

Our founder, Sean Crawford, explains “I remember vividly growing up as a teenager the coverage of the task force setting sail and friends of mine whose dads were a part of this great flotilla. It was at a time when Great Britain was suffering poor social and economic downturn; this conflict and our nation’s response created a huge sense of pride. Fast forward 40 years and 4 decades of conflict: to honour the ultimate sacrifice from our service men and women, I wanted to create a virtual platform to recognise these sacrifices and the plight of those still suffering. DropZone is hopefully that platform to recognise, identify and assist where possible the various causes, charities, and individuals. I wanted to help Paul Moore and his fellow riders and amplify the great work that they do.
